Romantic Valentine's Day Table Settings with Woven Placemats

February is here and with it comes one of my favorite celebrations: Valentine's Day.  Valentine's Day is usually a romantic dinner at home for my husband and I.  For the last several years, I have been loving our in-home Valentine's Day dinners.  They give me the chance to create romantic Valentine's Day Tablescape and have alone time with my guy without feeling the pressure to leave a restaurant.  This year we decided to include our kids and make it a special family dinner to celebrate the love we have for each other.  To make it a family Valentine's celebration, I created a Valentine's Day tablescape that is both pretty chic and simple with cute and romantic details from our store.

I love every chance I get to elevate the every-day and Valentine's Day is one of those chances.  A typical Valentine's Day table would be small and intimate but this year we are going for a chic but simple tablescape:

I know it might sound silly but most families are using their dining room tables for school or work.  I am one of them! Have the kids and whoever else clear their mess.  Reclaim your dining table even if it is for one night.  Then wipe your table to start with a clean canvas.

Some people like tablecloths, some like using runners.  Some like tablecloth plus runners.  Others like to show off their table.  There is no right or wrong here.  For this event, I decided to show off the beauty of my reclaimed wood table from West Elm partly because I haven't been able to find a tablecloth long enough for this 8 person table 

Here is where I put most of my decorating efforts.  The plate settings give me a chance to wow my guests.  For this family themed Valentine's Day table, I decided to use our Iraca Petals Handwoven Placemats.  The design is meant to look like the petals of a blooming flower.  I love how the natural Iraca fiber contrasts with my reclaimed wood table.  They really enhance each other's colors.  Next, I added classic white plates, brass silverware and crystal stemware

For the centerpiece, I decided to go with soft colors.  I think red roses is best for date nights with the hubby.  So, I picked up a pretty bouquet and mixed them with pink roses from my local flower shop.  I love supporting small businesses when I can and my local flower shop happen to have amazing prizes.  I spent $18 for a bouquet and a dozen pink roses.  I placed the flower bouquet in a pretty crystal vase I bought for $8 at a vintage boutique store near me.  The centerpiece came out really nice! Is soft, happy and looks really well against the dinning room table decor.  So lovely!

For this Valentine's Day tablescape, I added pink roses to each plate setting using our Bud Vase Napkin Rings.  To tie the Valentine's Day theme, I am using these adorable white Valentine's Day cloth napkins I found on Home Goods.  What I love about these napkins the most are the hearts embroidered on each corner with phrases like "Crazy 4 U", "I Love You", "Be Mine", and "Cutie Pie".  They were a hit with everyone and were a good conversation starter...
