Memorial Day is a big holiday in the United States.  Memorial Day is a holiday that celebrates and honors the heroes of the armed forces.  In my experience as a Colombian living in the United States, Memorial Day is second in importance after the Fourth of July.

Memorial Day also marks the beginning of the summer season.  Most areas of the United States are warming up and having nicer weather.  For this reason, most people celebrate Memorial Day by hosting a cookout or a bbq and that means decorating the dinning table.

o create a Memorial Day tablescape, we first had to pick some colors.  Since this is a patriotic holiday, we decided to use the colors of the American flag: red, white and blue.  The craft stores always have lots of patriotic decor around this time.  Both JoAnns and Michaels had lots of memorial day decor and they were on sale for 30% off.  I picked up some tablecloth fabric and lots of red, white and blue products from the table decor section.

We looked into our inventory and picked what we thought was the perfect placemat for this occasion: our Denim Placemat.  What is more American than Denim? Our denim placemat is made from premium denim fabric and handmade in Colombia by survivors of domestic violence.  The denim placemat has this super cool utensils pocket.  I paired the denim placemat with our Cayena cloth napkin and finished the look with some extra patriotic decorations.  Check out our Memorial Day Tablescape concept below:

For this Memorial Day table setting, we picked our Denim placemat.  The placemat has a utensils pocket and measures 13.75 inches wide.  Our Denim Placemats are available in discounted sets of 6 and 8.  Did we mentioned they are reversible and machine washable?

For this table setting, we went with our Cayena white embroidered cloth napkin.  I really like the contrast of the white embroidery against the red, white and blue ensemble.
